In this exciting venture, she will be directing a film that has been penned by the talented young actress Vanessa Burghardt, who also starred alongside her in the acclaimed movie Cha Cha Real Smooth.

“I envision directing a feature film, a small one, very soon. This project is incredibly meaningful to me and is closely associated with TeaTime. We are collaborating with Vanessa Burghardt, who portrayed my daughter in Cha Cha Real Smooth. She is an exceptionally talented autistic actress,” Dakota shared with THR.

Furthermore, she expressed, “There has always been a part of me that feels unprepared to take on directing a feature. My confidence has been lacking. However, with her, I feel a deep sense of protectiveness, and our familiarity makes it impossible for me to let anyone else take the reins.”
