Twitch has been thriving in 2025, particularly for Black streamers. Two names are consistently at the forefront of discussions: Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed. From record-breaking streams to viral moments, they’ve established themselves as the faces of contemporary streaming. Recently, however, it’s not their streams that are making headlines. Many are reacting after Twitch CEO Dan Clancy explained why he did not include them in his Streamer Mount Rushmore.

Why Did Dan Clancy Exclude Them from His Streamer Mount Rushmore?
On Monday, a clip circulated showing Twitch CEO Dan Clancy discussing his Streamer Mount Rushmore. During this discussion, Dan excluded Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed, two of Twitch’s most prominent stars. It’s worth noting that Kai was previously mentioned by Dan during Mafiathon 3. Dan later clarified that he only mentioned Kai because Kai had asked him the question live during the stream.
“It should be more historical. In other words, Kai is big now, but arguably, you are. He asked me, so I had to put him on there. You’re great, but you can’t be on the Mount Rushmore yet… Initially, I mentioned Speed, then I was like, ‘Oh, no,’ so I swapped Speed out for Caseoh.”
How Did Social Media React?
Users across social media platforms reacted to Dan Clancy’s comments. Many supported their fellow streamers Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed, asserting that they deserve more recognition for their contributions to the platform. Others expressed shock but not surprise at the CEO’s remarks.

Lastly, Instagram user @f_r_e_n_c_h_ suggested, “Kai and Speed need to make their own streaming platform.”
What Records Did They Break in 2025?
Despite not being included in Twitch CEO Dan Clancy’s “Streamer Mount Rushmore,” Kai Cenat and iShowSpeed have dominated Twitch in 2025. They delivered streaming marathons that shattered records and showcased their influence on the platform. Kai’s Mafiathon achieved an average of 130K viewers and over 1M peak viewers. He gained 1.1 million followers, reached 1.1 million subscribers, and accumulated over 90 million hours watched. This made him the #1-ranked Twitch streamer globally. iShowSpeed’s 24/7 America Tour was another significant success, attracting an average of 12,000 viewers, peaking at 45,000 viewers, gaining 900,000 followers, and amassing 8 million hours watched.
