Dancing With the Stars professional dancer Daniella Karagach has taken to social media to urge her fans to prioritize her daughter Nikita’s privacy amidst several troubling incidents. Currently, Karagach along with her husband, fellow dancer Pasha Pashkov, are touring across the United States with their 22-month-old daughter as part of the Dancing With the Stars live tour. This family-oriented journey has been marred by events that raise serious concerns about their personal space and the well-being of their young child.
On March 7, 2025, Karagach made a heartfelt plea on Instagram, requesting that fans honor her family’s privacy. Although she expressed reluctance in sharing this message, she conveyed her willingness to interact and take pictures with fans. However, following an unsettling situation in Biloxi, Mississippi, the couple has grown increasingly worried about how fans engage with Nikita, particularly when they are not present. She stated:
“If you see us with our child, it is always OK to say hi. We love saying hi to you. But if you see that she’s not with us and with my mother-in-law, please do not hunt her down and ask her for photos or take photos of her without my mother-in-law’s knowledge… the main reason for this post is please do not take photos or videos of our baby girl without our knowledge or when she isn’t with us.”
Understand the Security and Privacy Challenges Faced by ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Professionals
Karagach is not alone in her concerns; she is one of several Dancing With the Stars professionals who have voiced serious worries about their security and privacy while on the road for the show’s tour. Just last year, fellow pro dancer Jenna Johnson made a public appeal to fans to safeguard her son Rome’s privacy. Johnson shares her son with her husband, renowned dancer Val Chmerkovskiy, and has faced similar challenges as a parent in the spotlight.
In January 2024, Johnson expressed her distress after a group of fans followed Rome and his nanny to their hotel room in Verona, New York. This alarming incident led Johnson to implore fans to respect her son’s privacy during their tour, emphasizing the need for boundaries even while they share their lives with the audience.
Additionally, the live taping of the Dancing With the Stars show has experienced its share of controversies related to security. In 2016, two individuals managed to disrupt the live broadcast of the show, protesting against celebrity contestant Ryan Lochte, and even storming onto the dance floor. This disruptive incident prompted a thorough review of the show’s security measures, with representatives confirming that changes would be implemented if deemed necessary. Last year, during Dancing With the Stars Season 33, a video surfaced featuring partners Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko sharing a kiss, igniting immediate fan speculation about a potential showmance. Other professionals, including former dancer Cheryl Burke, have also criticized the insufficient security and privacy measures within the ballroom.
The Dancing With the Stars cast is actively on tour until April 19, 2025. While there has been no official announcement regarding Dancing With the Stars Season 35, fans can enjoy previous seasons of the dance competition by streaming them on Disney+.
