DCU Brainiac Actor Revealed by Man of Tomorrow Cast

The search for the DC Universe’s Brainiac is over.

Who is the actor playing Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow?

Unlike what rumors had suggested, the DCU’s Brainiac is not an actor that director James Gunn has collaborated with in the past, nor is it one of the actors from the reported shortlist. Instead, Lars Eidinger, a German actor, will portray Brainiac. This marks the biggest role in Eidinger’s career, who has starred in miniseries like All the Light We Cannot See and appeared in Noah Baumbach’s Jay Kelly and White Noise. Other notable film roles for the actor include 2024’s Dying, 2022’s About Joan, and 2020’s My Little Sister.

Currently, very little is known about the Superman sequel Man of Tomorrow, apart from its release date on July 9, 2027, and that David Corenswet‘s Superman, Nicholas Hoult‘s Lex Luthor, and Rachel Brosnahan‘s Lois Lane are all set to return for the film.

The Man of Tomorrow is one of Superman’s many nicknames; however, there have also been several DC comic runs that have incorporated the “Man of Tomorrow” name into their official title. Additionally, there was a 2020 animated movie titled Superman: Man of Tomorrow, but whether or not the DCU movie will draw from any of this source material remains unclear at this time.

Superman is now available to rent or purchase on digital platforms such as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and more.
