Def Leppard’s ‘Stand By Me’ Cover Aids LA Fire Victims

Renowned rock band Def Leppard has unveiled their heartfelt cover of Ben E. King‘s iconic song “Stand by Me.” This powerful rendition aims to support the victims of the recent devastating wildfires in Southern California. You can listen to the song below and join the cause.

With a commitment to making a difference, all proceeds generated from this song will be directed to FireAid, an organization dedicated to providing immediate relief and developing sustainable long-term solutions to mitigate future disasters. This initiative exemplifies the band’s dedication to community and compassion.

Frontman Joe Elliott expressed his sentiments, stating, “Los Angeles and its surrounding area has always played a central role in Def Leppard’s career, from being our base to hosting our first-ever gig in America. We feel incredibly fortunate to dedicate this song to the courageous heroes in L.A. who are tirelessly assisting those impacted by the fire. There’s truly no better song for such a meaningful cause.”

Guitarist Phil Collen emphasized the importance of solidarity during challenging times, saying, “As someone who has lived in Southern California for 35 years, I’ve seen firsthand the devastating effects of wildfires on local communities. Our cover of ‘Stand by Me’ serves as a tribute to resilience, unity, and hope. Every cent earned from our version will go directly to those affected by the wildfires, ensuring that we stand together as a community. No one should face hardship alone, and together, we can make a real difference.”

The release of Def Leppard‘s cover comes right after the dual FireAid benefit concerts held at Inglewood’s Kia Forum and Intuit Dome. These star-studded shows featured electrifying performances from renowned artists such as Green Day, The Black Crowes, Joni Mitchell, Rod Stewart, Lady Gaga, and many other celebrated rock and pop musicians.
