50 Cent has finally revealed the release date of his Diddy docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning.

After more than a year of teasing the project, which many initially thought was just a joke given Fif’s petty rivalry with Puffy, the G-Unit boss announced on Tuesday that the docuseries will premiere on Netflix on December 2.

Alongside an official poster for the series, he addressed his skeptics by writing on Instagram: “They said I was capping, [shrug emoji] what happened?”

Executive produced by 50 Cent and directed by Emmy winner Alexandria Stapleton (How Music Got Free, Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea), Sean Combs: The Reckoning is described by Netflix as “a staggering examination of the media mogul, music legend and convicted offender.”

The four-part docuseries chronicles his rise to stardom as a hip-hop mogul, as well as the disturbing allegations made against him over the last two years and the criminal trial that led to him being sentenced to four years in prison.

“This isn’t just about the story of Sean Combs or the story of Cassie, or the story of any of the victims, or the allegations against him, or the trial,” Stapleton said in a press release. “Ultimately, this story is a mirror [reflecting us] as the public, and what we are saying when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal.

“I hope [this documentary] is a wake-up call for how we idolize people, and to understand that everybody is a human being.”

50 added: “I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television. I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.”

The eagerly anticipated docuseries promises “explosive, never-before-seen materials, including exclusive interviews with those formerly in Combs’ orbit.”
