It has been over 15 years since Kate Gosselin finalized her divorce.
However, the former reality television personality reveals that the repercussions are still very much present in her life. Financially, she continues to feel the impact.
In a recent TikTok video, Kate Gosselin, who is a dedicated mother of eight, shared an overview of her day as a pediatric home health care nurse. She elaborated on her reasons for working so tirelessly, despite her extensive background as a quasi-celebrity.

We attended a birthday party,” the 50-year-old shared on this social media platform.
“We enjoyed playing in the water and spent a considerable amount of time outdoors. My patient loves being outside, and of course, I handled all the necessary medical care, including feeding, bathing, and everything in between,” she added.
While she was in her kitchen recording this video, Kate continued to express her routine.
“Tomorrow, I will be working again, so I have loaded my dishes into the dishwasher, which is currently running. This way, I can get some rest and prepare to wake up early to repeat the cycle,” she concluded.

This controversial figure was a prominent part of the reality television series Jon & Kate Plus 8, which aired from 2007 to 2009, and later starred in its spinoff, Kate Plus 8, during her tumultuous divorce from Jon Gosselin.
Both television programs depicted her life as the mother of now 24-year-old twin daughters, Mady and Cara, who are currently attending college, as well as her 21-year-old sextuplets: Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah.
Sadly, Kate has experienced estrangement from Hannah and Collin for several years, with Collin having made serious allegations of abuse against her.
Both of these children reside with their father and have no communication with their siblings, which is undeniably heartbreaking.

“Honestly? The reality of providing for eight children, funding their college education—which I’m proud to say has been successful—and the relentless legal fees has been overwhelming. It is disheartening because I constantly found myself dragged into court, and the costs were astronomical,” she explained.
“It’s tragic because my children could have had much more saved for their futures, and I could have had a retirement plan set up if it weren’t for the costs associated with legal representation. However, I find fulfillment in helping other families, and I genuinely enjoy my work,” she stated.

“My children have benefited from a solid college fund, a lovely home, and have attended private schooling. Unfortunately, the lawyers have taken the majority of the financial resources. I currently do not possess any retirement savings. The earnings from reality TV are not sufficient when one is solely responsible for the expenses of raising eight children…”
“I have spent an exorbitant amount on legal fees, which has been devastating for us! It’s a very unfortunate situation!”
This is not the first instance where Kate Gosselin has discussed her ongoing financial struggles. It is clear that providing for eight children comes with a hefty price tag.
After previously stating on TikTok that she is “healing and growing” every day, Kate recently reflected on specific aspects of her former life that she misses:
“I long for our house in Pennsylvania. But more than anything, I miss when the kids were younger. Not the stress, but their adorable innocence. At that time, it felt like the days dragged on, but in hindsight, they flew by. And I feel a sense of sadness about it.”
