Destry Allyn Spielberg, the talented daughter of renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw, is making waves in the film industry with her feature directorial debut in the horror genre titled Please Don’t Feed the Children. Recently, it was announced that the popular streaming service Tubi has acquired the distribution rights for this highly anticipated film in both the United States and Canada. Fans can look forward to its streaming launch on June 27, and to celebrate, a gripping trailer has been released, which you can find embedded above.
The screenplay for Please Don’t Feed the Children was crafted by Paul Bertino, and it unfolds in a near-future setting filled with suspense. The storyline follows a group of orphans who embark on a journey southward in search of a better life following a devastating viral outbreak that has wiped out the adult population. Unfortunately, they soon find themselves at the mercy of a disturbed woman who harbors a dangerous and life-threatening secret, setting the stage for a chilling and gripping narrative.
This thriller boasts an impressive cast, including the talented Michelle Dockery from Downton Abbey, Zoe Colletti known for her role in Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and Giancarlo Esposito from the acclaimed series Breaking Bad. The ensemble further features Vernon Davis from The Ritual Killer, Regan Aliyah from XO Kitty, as well as Joshuah Melnick, Emma Meisel, Dean Scott Vazquez, and Andrew Liner, who each bring their unique talents to this enthralling project.
Previously, Destry Allyn Spielberg earned recognition when her short film Let Me Go the Right Way won the Best Thriller award at the City of Angels Women’s Film Festival in 2022. Collaborating with Owen King—the son of the legendary Stephen King—she developed a compelling story about a young veteran grappling with his deteriorating sense of reality and the psychiatrist trying to help him. Prior to the emergence of Please Don’t Feed the Children, Spielberg was set to direct an action film titled Four Assassins (and a Funeral), described as a thrilling combination of The Kingsman, Knives Out, and Succession. After completing her debut feature, she is expected to return to Four Assassins (and a Funeral).
