Are Rafe and Jada leaving Days of Our Lives?
Rumors are circulating about Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) leaving Days of Our Lives. However, they don’t seem to be departing the show.
Days of Our Lives has made some changes to its cast roster. Gering (Rafe) and Cantu (Jada) have reportedly been moved from contract to recurring status. The shift was indicated by the removal of their names from the contract section of the March 30 episode credits (via Soap Opera Digest).
The development follows the recent departure of Marissa Reyes (Arianna). Additionally, it coincides with the announcement of General Hospital alumni Sofia Mattsson joining the cast in an undisclosed role, slated to appear in early 2027.
A DAYS spokesperson for the show clarified that Rafe and Jada remain part of the Salem storyline. But it seems their reduced presence may suggest changes to their character arcs.
“We never comment on actor contract status but, rest assured, Rafe and Jada are still in Salem,” they assured.
The show’s cast comprises recurring actors, including Lorelei Olivia Mote (Rachel), Brandon Beemer (Shawn), and Casey Moss (JJ). They appear on a non-contract basis and have involvement in the series. Hence, losing contract status doesn’t necessarily mean Rafe or Jada are leaving Salem.
Galen Gering joined Days of Our Lives in 2008, after playing Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald on Passions. Meanwhile, Cantu debuted on the show in 2022. Their characters, Rafe and Jada, were previously in a serious relationship but split up last year. They are currently single and continue to work together as law enforcement officers.
