Alice in Chains was poised to kick off their highly anticipated U.S. tour this evening with a performance at the Mohegan Sun Arena located in Uncasville, Connecticut. Unfortunately, just moments before the doors were scheduled to open for eager fans, the band made the difficult decision to cancel the concert unexpectedly.
In a heartfelt message shared across their social media platforms, Alice in Chains provided insight into the abrupt cancellation.
“Following our soundcheck earlier tonight at the Mohegan Sun Arena, our drummer, Sean [Kinney], experienced a medical emergency that, while not life-threatening, necessitated the cancellation of tonight’s performance. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. Refunds will be made available at the point of purchase.”
Details surrounding Kinney’s current condition remain undisclosed. As a founding member of Alice in Chains since its inception in 1987, he has remained one of the two constant members of the band throughout its journey, alongside the talented guitarist Jerry Cantrell.

Upcoming Concert Dates for Alice in Chains in May
Alice in Chains has an exciting calendar lined up for May. Provided there are no additional cancellations, their next concert is set for May 10 in Camden, New Jersey. Following this, the band will make appearances at notable events such as the Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville festivals. Additionally, they are scheduled to perform at the Boardwalk Rock festival on May 17, a slot they secured after the legendary Motley Crue had to withdraw from the lineup.
As summer approaches, Alice in Chains will join an impressive array of artists at the Back to the Beginning festival, which serves as the star-studded final concert for the iconic band Black Sabbath.
