You might not need to be reminded that here at theFashionSpot, we’ve got an extreme love/hate relationship with American Harper’s Bazaar. Throughout 2025, covers starring the likes of Zoe Saldaña, Linda Evangelista, and Jenna Ortega have felt like missed opportunities. On the flip side, we have fawned over Rihanna and Anok Yai as cover girls. Up next on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar is Dua Lipa, who graces the September 2025 edition of the magazine. Making her Bazaar cover debut, the London-born Albanian singer and songwriter is photographed by Anthony Seklaoui and styled by the magazine’s style director Carlos Nazario. In cover one, Dua larks about a suite at the Shangri-La Paris wearing Valentino. For the second alternative cover (after the jump), Dua dons Chanel (a brand to which Dua Lipa is brand ambassador).

“What an eyesore of a cover shoot. How naive I was to believe Carlos Nazario would be the saving grace of this magazine under Samira Nasr. Not even sure on where to start on the photography from Anthony Seklaoui. The first cover looks like Dua Lipa was shot inside a miniature doll house,” critiqued vogue28.
MModa felt the same way. “I agree with you,” they replied. “It seems that his contributions to US Harper’s Bazaar have been going downhill.”
“People give Nazario way too much credit in general across his career. His work is basic at best and always feels like it wants to be more than it actually is,” aa2005 chimed in.
“Carlos Nazario is no different than Law Roach. Law may be the better one on a good day, frankly. Useless photography. A shame too because Dua is a very pretty woman. With actual talents to shoot and style her, her potential was always there,” Phuel noted.
“It’s giving shot on iPhone by Terry Richardson,” remarked Lucien112.
“I have seen driver’s license photos that look more professional than whatever this is,” stated an unforgiving YourMonster upon checking out the covers.
