Elaine Hendrix Hospitalized, Absent from Dancing With the Stars

Elaine Hendrix from ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Addresses Hospitalization and Absence from Halloween Episode

Elaine Hendrix is recovering.

Just hours before she was set to perform with her professional partner Alan Bersten for Dancing With the Stars‘ Halloween Night, the Parent Trap star was hospitalized during a dance rehearsal, which caused her to miss the episode on October 28.

“I injured my ribs during ‘Defying Gravity’ and today they just seized up,” Elaine explained in a video shared on her Instagram. “I couldn’t move. They took me to the hospital.”

Although the injury kept her out of the ballroom this week, the Dynasty alum expressed confidence that she would recover in time to compete next week.

“The doctor has said that with a day or two of rest, I should be able to continue and that’s exactly what I want to do,” Elaine added. “I want to dance, I want to keep doing this.”

She thanked Alan for “holding down the fort” and encouraged her fans to vote for the duo this week using rehearsal footage that aired during the episode, where they performed the Argentine tango to George Thorogood & The Destroyers‘ song “Bad to the Bone.” Their practice received 8s from the judges, contributing to this week’s score.
