Erika Christensen, who portrays the character Angie Polaski in the acclaimed series Will Trent, recently shared her insights regarding the advice she would offer her character and her former love interest, Will Trent, assuming they were friends. Angie and Will share a complex and tumultuous romantic history stemming from their past as foster children, which has led to a series of on-again, off-again relationships throughout the show. Although they have been romantically involved in the past, the chances of them rekindling their previous romance seem slim at this point. Currently, Angie is in a committed relationship with Dr. Seth McDale, while Will appears to have developed feelings for Marion Alba, introducing further complications to their dynamic.
In a conversation with ScreenRant’s Rachel Foertsch, Christensen reflected on whether she believes Angie and Will should pursue a romantic relationship again or if they would be better off as friends. She expressed that if she were friends with them, her advice would be to maintain a platonic friendship. However, considering that they are part of a television show, Christensen hinted that reigniting their romance could inject some much-needed drama into the storyline. That said, with Angie’s recent pregnancy, the possibility of a romantic reunion between them may be off the table for good, changing the course of their relationship significantly.
ScreenRant: Do you think that there’s still hope for Angie to rekindle something romantic with Will, or do you prefer their friendship?
Erika Christensen: I feel like, as a TV show, I don’t know. If they’re real people, I’m really happy for Will and Angie to where they’ve gotten to be as a healthy friendship. I think that’s beautiful, and if they were my friends, I would be like, “This is great. This is where you need to be. It seems to be kind of chaotic when you’re together, so maybe just enjoy this.” But for the show…I don’t know. Drama is great for the show.
The Impact of Angie & Will’s Friendship on Will Trent Season 4
Although Angie and Will have moved past their romantic involvement, their enduring friendship provides essential emotional support for both characters. Given that Angie is currently pregnant with Seth’s child, maintaining a friendship may be the healthiest option for these former lovers. Even without a romantic connection, the love they once shared continues to exist, and it may play a crucial role in offering Angie the support she needs during this significant moment in her life. The complexities of their past could help them navigate the challenges ahead in their evolving relationship.
