Erin Bates, Alum of Bringing Up Bates, Is “On the Road to Recovery” After Battle with Septic Shock
Erin Bates is on the mend following a serious health scare.
After the Bringing Up Bates star experienced complications after the birth of her and husband Chad Paine’s seventh child, Henry, he provided an update on her condition.
“With tears in our eyes, we are praising the Lord that we are on the road to recovery,” Chad posted on Instagram on Sept. 6, sharing a video of Erin awake and giving kisses to their baby boy. “Your prayers have definitely touched heaven.”
The 34-year-old’s health update follows just two days after her husband revealed that Erin had endured a “lengthy and severe seizure” and was admitted to the ICU after developing a severe UTI and kidney infection, which led to septic shock shortly after giving birth.
“Up to this point, Erin’s infection was improving, but we found ourselves back in a place of heartache, uncertainty, and tears,” Chad—who also has children Carson, 10, Brooklyn, 8, Everly, 7, Holland, 5, Finley, 3, and William, 22 months, with Erin—wrote on Instagram on Sept. 4. “The doctors are conducting scans and tests to determine the cause. Erin is extremely weak and spent hours only half conscious.”
