“It’s too big to picture,” Lee shared with Kat regarding the legacy of Evanescence, particularly the numbers associated with that legacy.

“You mention numbers like that, they don’t mean anything to me anymore … It’s just like, ‘Wow, that’s a big number.’ It’s incredible. [We’re] super grateful and honestly, during that moment — ‘Bring Me to Life,’ all that stuff in 2008 — every second felt like, I hope we can make this last another year.”

Lee expressed that she and the band are happier and healthier than ever and feel thankful to continue doing what they love year after year.

“You just have to pave that path,” Lee remarked about her journey in the male-dominated rock and roll industry.

“There isn’t an easy path for me that looks like everyone else’s; I’ve got to carve my own way a little bit.”

And there’s no doubt that Lee has accomplished just that, whether through the two new songs from Evanescence released this year, “Afterlife” and “Fight Like a Girl,” or her involvement in one of the biggest collaborations of 2025 alongside Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante and Poppy, titled “End of You.”

Fortunately for fans, all of this momentum appears to be leading toward even more new music.

“I’ve been working on a new album for a while,” Lee disclosed.

“We’re really rounding the corner. We have many songs in progress and we’re aiming to release our new album at the beginning of next year.”

Lee paused for a moment.

“When I say ‘beginning,’ I don’t mean January … Early 2026.”
