Evil Dead Actor Reveals Exciting Update

Bruce Campbell has news about his health.

The Evil Dead star stated he has been diagnosed with “a type of cancer that’s ‘treatable’ not ‘curable.'”

“I apologize if that’s a shock—it was to me too,” Bruce wrote in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on March 2. “The good news is, I’m not gonna go into any more detail. I’m posting this because professionally, a few things will have to change—appearances and cons and work in general need to take a back seat to treatment.”

Calling his cancer journey an “opportunity,” the 67-year-old mentioned the plan is to “get as well as I possibly can over the summer,” which means he will be pulling out of several scheduled appearances at fan conventions.

“Big regrets on my part,” he continued. “Treatment needs and professional obligations don’t always go hand-in-hand.”

Explaining that he was going public with his diagnosis not to “enlist sympathy” but to “get ahead of this information in case false information gets out,” Bruce assured fans to “fear not” regarding his condition.

“I am a tough old son-of-a-b—h and I have great support,” he added, “so I expect to be around a while.”
