Exclusive Photos of The Doors in Germany, 1968

The iconic rock band The Doors was established in 1965, led by the enigmatic and captivating Jim Morrison. This year marks a significant milestone as the band celebrates its 60th anniversary. To honor this momentous occasion, a stunning collection of never-before-seen photographs capturing the essence of the band during concerts, studio sessions, and global tours is currently on display at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in Los Angeles.

Among the treasures being showcased are exclusive images from three renowned photographers: Henry Diltz, Paul Ferrara, and Michael Montfort. The exhibition also features additional works by other notable photographers, including Joel Brodsky, Ken Regan, Ethan Russell, Art Kane, Guy Webster, Bobby Klein, and Gloria Staver.

Reflecting on his experiences, Diltz shared, “Working with the Doors was always an adventure — there was this wild, creative energy that surrounded them. They were poets, rock stars, and friends, and being there to capture it all was one of the great joys of my life.” This sentiment perfectly encapsulates the band’s unique spirit and lasting impact on music.

Among the exclusive offerings are three captivating photographs of Jim Morrison and The Doors, taken by Montfort in Germany in 1968. These images are available for viewing below. Don’t miss the chance to experience this remarkable exhibition, which runs until July 24.

Surviving Members of The Doors Embrace the Future

Despite the passage of time, the surviving members of The Doors, guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore, continue to look forward rather than dwell on the past. Their creative journey is ongoing, as they focus on new projects and music. “We’re not dead yet. Legacy is odd to discuss when you’re still working,” Densmore remarked in a conversation with Variety earlier this year. “I’m proud of The Doors, and I like looking forward,” he added, emphasizing their commitment to moving ahead in their careers.
