Ed Sheeran has revealed his favorite ever rap album during an appearance on GOAT Talk.

Appearing alongside actor Barry Keoghan, Sheeran revealed he had a particular fondness for Aftermath/Shady/G-Unit albums.

He said: “It’s that whole world. You have Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Documentary – Game or The Marshall Mathers LP. Those three, I could put them on in any scenario. 2001 – Dr. Dre is another one.

Keoghan also said his pick was 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, which led Sheeran to say: “I was listening to that weirdly with my dad the other day. We were in Italy. I was topless with a beer in my hand, explaining to him how great ‘If I Can’t’ was because it’s not a full eight bar chorus.”

The two also explained that their favorite rappers were British MCs such as Skepta, Dave, Wretch 32, and Stormzy.

Sheeran has previously extolled the virtues of Eminem’s music and how it helped him overcome a stuttering problem.

He said to Howard Stern: “[My uncle] just said to my dad, ‘This guy is the next Bob Dylan. You gotta let him listen,’ And by learning that record – and rapping it back to back to back to back – it cured my stutter.”

He continued: “I think it’s different with Eminem because he is quite reclusive, doesn’t see or meet that many people. I’ve known him now [for] six years and we’ve done three songs together, I’ve played with him twice onstage. He’s another person I really relate to, as he lives in his hometown still and has his eco-system around him.”

50 Cent is also a fan of the British singer and praised his acoustic guitar cover of “In Da Club.”

The Queens, New York legend gave his stamp of approval to the guitar-driven rendition of his party-starting tune by reposting a video of Sheeran’s performance to his Instagram.

“Ed Sheeran right now in LA at the John Mayer concert Killing shit! BOOM,” he wrote in the caption.

50’s Final Lap tour mate Busta Rhymes was also impressed by what he heard as he left a series of fire emojis in the comments section.
