Thomas Rhett is experiencing significant life changes.
The country music star has welcomed his fifth child—a baby boy named Brave Elijah Akins—with his wife Lauren Akins, as confirmed by the couple.
“Welcome to the world Brave,” they shared in a joint Instagram post on February 27. “Oh. my. goodness. Our hearts are just in a big ole puddle with this precious baby BOY.”
“Brave Elijah Akins was born last week at nearly 10 pounds and almost 2 weeks early,” they added. “Thank you Jesus this big boy didn’t wait another 2 weeks to be born.”
In a carousel of photos, Thomas and Lauren—who are also parents to daughters Lillie Carolina, 4, Lennon Love, 6, Ada James, 8, and Willa Gray, 10—shared adorable snapshots of their new little one, along with intimate moments from his birth. In one photo, the “Die a Happy Man” hitmaker is seen rubbing Lauren’s lower back as she sits in a hospital bed. In another black-and-white image, Thomas, 35, places a tender kiss on his wife’s forehead while she holds their newborn.
The father of five also played a special role in the delivery room.
