Renowned drummer Shannon Larkin is set to make a triumphant return to the concert stage soon after his departure from Godsmack earlier this year. This weekend, music fans can expect to see him performing live with the reunited SNOT during their highly anticipated appearance at Welcome to Rockville.
Shannon Larkin Joins Snot for an Exciting Festival Performance
In 2025, Snot is embarking on a thrilling tour following their reunion announcement earlier this year. They have introduced Andy Knapp of Stronger Than Machines as their new lead vocalist, adding a fresh dynamic to the band. The original lineup was initially set to include members such as Mikey Doling, John “Tumor” Fahnestock, Sonny Mayo, and Jamie Miller. However, last month, Mayo had to withdraw from the tour, leading to the recruitment of former Bad Wolves guitarist Doc Coyle for the reunion in 2025.
Recently, it was revealed that Miller’s scheduling conflict would prevent him from participating in the festival due to his current touring commitments with Bad Religion, who are performing in Europe. To fill this gap, the band has brought back the familiar face of Larkin to handle drumming duties for their festival set.
The band announced on Instagram, “Due to Jamie Miller currently on tour in Spain with Bad Religion, legendary drummer Shannon Larkin will be joining SNOT on the drum throne this Sunday at @WelcomeToRockville in Daytona Beach.” They further emphasized Larkin’s historical significance to the band, noting, “Shannon is responsible for putting SNOT together in the beginning and also played the very last two SNOT shows before Lynn passed away in 1998,” showcasing footage of Larkin’s electrifying performance behind the kit.
Shannon Larkin’s Departure from Godsmack: A New Chapter
Earlier this year, Godsmack made their return to the concert stage, but fans noticed the absence of drummer Shannon Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola. In an interview with Bulgaria’s Z Rock radio station, lead singer Sully Erna mentioned, “There are changes that we’re not sure will be permanent or temporary, but everybody and everyone is in good health and in really good spirits. And the band is doing better than ever.” To fill the void left by Larkin and Rombola, guitarist Sam Bam Koltun and drummer Will Hunt were brought in.

In April, Larkin officially confirmed his departure from the band alongside Rombola, expressing their mutual desire to step back from touring. A joint statement released with the band stated, “After almost 3 incredible decades, two of our most cherished members, Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin, have decided to retire from the band permanently, on good terms, but for no other reason than to fulfill their desire to live a more simple and quiet life away from touring.”
