50 Cent has made provocative statements suggesting that his former friend and now rival, Floyd Mayweather, may be experiencing significant financial difficulties.
In a recent post on his Instagram account, the rapper shared an image of a lavish goblet that he claims belongs to the former world champion boxer, stating that it is up for pawn.
50 Cent wrote: “Damn champ you pawning shit, they just hit me asking do I want it, they want 80K for it call my phone.” His insinuation raises eyebrows about Mayweather’s current financial status. As of now, Mayweather has not publicly addressed 50 Cent’s allegations regarding his financial situation or the goblet’s status.
50 Cent has a history of targeting Mayweather on social media, recently mocking him for his outspoken support of Donald Trump.
During an appearance on the Fox Business show Making Money with Charles Payne earlier this year, Mayweather expressed his unwavering support for the controversial Republican figure. He stated, “When we had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him. But I think Trump is a great president, one of the — actually he’s the best president. In my eyes, he’s the best president we ever had,” emphasizing his admiration for Trump’s business acumen.
The 48-year-old fighter added: “Great business, great businessman, and that’s what it’s about. Trump has done an amazing job and a lot of people around America are upset. But no matter who goes in the White House, we’re always upset. I think Trump is the man for the job. He’s the best president in my eyes.”
These remarks did not sit well with Mayweather’s longtime frenemy, 50 Cent, who took to Instagram to ridicule him.
“YO you know how, when you’re in school and a kid eats the crayons. Now you see what happens when they grow up. Spell BEST PRESIDENT champ! LOL,” he retorted, showcasing his trademark humor at Mayweather’s expense.
Interestingly, 50 Cent himself has toyed with the idea of supporting Trump, despite his jabs at Mayweather’s praise for the president. In a 2020 social media post, he wrote: “WHAT THE FUCK! (VOTE For TRUMP) IM OUT. FUCK NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya fucking mind.”
However, the media mogul later shifted his allegiance to Joe Biden ahead of that year’s election, responding to criticism from his fans regarding his original stance.
He subsequently referred to Trump as “the answer” after voicing his discontent with New York mayor Eric Adams regarding the city’s approach to immigration.
