The talented 40-year-old drag performer celebrated her remarkable achievement on Friday, July 19, after she emerged victorious in the thrilling Lip Sync Smackdown for the Crown. Along with the coveted title, she secured a grand prize of $200,000, a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, and the iconic crown and scepter that signify her win.

“Since we first encountered her, Ginger Minj has embodied the pinnacle of Drag Race excellence. Now, with the crown firmly on her head, we can celebrate her incredible journey! May her extraordinary star power continue to illuminate the world,” RuPaul expressed in a heartfelt statement. “To her fierce and exhilarating competitors, thank you for allowing us to fall even more deeply in love with each and every one of you. “I feel like I can finally breathe after ten long years of striving for this moment. There’s always that sense of unfinished business lingering in your mind. You feel proud of your accomplishments, yet you can’t help but replay all the different paths you could have taken, wondering which one might have led you to victory,” Ginger shared with EW’s Joey Nolfi. “For the first time in my life, I truly trusted myself. It all aligned perfectly, and this victory feels far more earned and well-deserved compared to my previous attempts.”

When asked about the fans’ discussions surrounding her perceived favoritism in the competition, Ginger admitted that she couldn’t completely dismiss it.

“I wish I could say I’m unaffected by it, but that’s not the case. I genuinely care about how people perceive me, especially when I’ve invested so much of myself into this project. What brought me a bit of comfort is knowing I’ve faced this competition three times before, and RuPaul has never hesitated to place me in the bottom, forcing me to lip-sync for my life without awarding me the crown,” the drag queen explained. “There has never been a time when I was seen as the favorite. Before I even stepped into the spotlight for [All Stars 10], the rumors began. They created their own narrative. This provided me some peace. Ultimately, I can only do my best and relish in the success of this moment.”

Looking ahead, Ginger expressed her eagerness to participate in another All Winners season whenever RuPaul calls upon her.

“Absolutely. I’m ready to show up for any opportunity. I would love to return as a mentor for the Snatch Game,” Ginger affirmed enthusiastically.

Additionally, she revealed that Broadway has already reached out to her!

“Broadway has always been my ultimate aspiration. While I can’t disclose too much yet, I had a Broadway producer contact me mere hours after my talent show aired, and we are currently working on possibilities for me to star in my own Broadway production. It’s likely to kick off early next year,” Ginger hinted.

“I plan to use the $200,000 to help alleviate some of my family’s debts. I also want to invest in a place in L.A. to establish a more consistent presence here,” she continued. “Symbolically, I want to embody the role of a queen that brings people together. I aim to demonstrate that the hard work I’ve put into my personal growth is achievable for others as well. I want to inspire hope in people. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.”
