Jeff Sperbeck, who was the former agent and a longtime business partner of John Elway, tragically lost his life following a serious golf cart accident. At the age of 61, his untimely demise has left a significant void in the sports world.
On April 26, while returning from a post-party celebration connected to the Stagecoach Festival held at a private golf community in La Quinta, California, law enforcement officials reported to TMZ that Sperbeck fell from the rear of the moving vehicle and suffered a severe head injury after hitting the asphalt.
In the immediate aftermath of this unfortunate incident, Elway is said to have quickly dialed 911. Paramedics arrived to find Sperbeck unconscious but still exhibiting signs of life. The 61-year-old was promptly transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he remained on life support due to a traumatic brain injury until he was pronounced dead in the early hours of April 30.
Although police did not attend the scene immediately, a representative from the Riverside Sheriff’s Office confirmed to NBC Sports that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident has been initiated.
