Curious about Negan’s new Lucille in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 1? Here’s all you need to know.

Negan’s new Lucille in The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 1, explained

In The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 1, Negan is given a new Lucille by The Croat as a peace offering. The Croat, along with the Dama, has blackmailed Negan into doing their dirty work. They threaten the safety of his family — wife Annie and son Joshua — to keep him in line.

The new Lucille is mostly the same, according to The Croat. However, The Croat reveals that he has added some improvements.

Negan uses the new Lucille when trying to unite various Manhattan groups to fight the New Babylon Federation. He places the bat near the face of a man, refusing to move it away despite his frustration. The man grabs the bat and receives an electric shock.

How is the new version of Lucille different from the old one?

The new Lucille is different from the old one, as it has some improvements, according to The Croat.

One of these improvements is a button on the new Lucille’s handle. Pressing that button sends out a powerful electric charge that can shock and kill anyone who touches it. As such, the new bat not only allows Negan to continue bashing enemies but also lets him deal double the damage via the electric charge.

It is presumed that the weapon is connected to The Croat’s profession as an alternative energy scientist. The Croat was using methane from dead bodies to develop an energy source. This project eventually led to experiments aimed at bringing back electricity to Manhattan.

The Walking Dead: Dead City airs every Sunday on AMC.
