Hilaria Baldwin knows her relationship with Ireland Baldwin isn’t traditional.
While Hilaria’s marriage to Alec Baldwin makes her Ireland’s stepmother, their 11-year age gap doesn’t make for a conventional connection.
“I feel like it's unique for a stepmom and stepdaughter relationship, because that's technically what we are,” Hilaria said during the March 23 episode of TLC’s The Baldwins. “But first of all, I'm 11 years older than her. I didn't raise her, and we find tremendous humor in that, and we always have found tremendous humor.”
Like how the 41-year-old welcomed her and Alec’s youngest daughter Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2, only eight months before Ireland, 29, gave birth to her first daughter Holland with boyfriend RAC. (Hilaria and Alec are also parents to Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María Lucía, 4.)
“It’s so wonderful, because we were pregnant together, but just barely,” Hilaria said. “So, my baby is almost nine months older than Ireland's baby.”
Though their schedules have caused some distance, the latest episode of the show saw them coming together in New York.
“I haven't seen Ireland in a long time because we live so far and we both had babies, and even though Alec met his new baby granddaughter, I haven't met Holland until this little trip,” she said during the episode. “We FaceTime all the time, we talk all the time, but we haven't actually met up. And so we got all the kids together for a play date this morning.”
They’ve come a long way since Hilaria was first introduced to Ireland, whose mom is Kim Bassinger.
“Before I was her stepmother, when I met her, I first had a conversation with Alec, and I said, you know, if she doesn't like me, I'm not staying ‘cause I'm not going to be wicked stepmother,” Hilaria, who wed the actor in 2012, recalled. “My place in life is not to come into a family and cause problems."
After all, she wasn’t trying to replace Kim. “She has a mom that she has a very good relationship with,” she added, “and so my job wasn't to come in and parent.”However, her worrying was unnecessary. After all, she said Ireland “immediately welcomed” her: “It was so easy. We’ve never fought.”

The Baldwin Brothers
Alexander Rae Baldwin III—the Emmy-winning actor known as Alec Baldwin—was born April 3, 1958, to Alexander Rae Baldwin Jr. and Carol Newcomb. He's the second of six siblings and the oldest brother.

Mama Baldwin
Their father died at the age of 55 in 1983 but Carol—who survived a 1991 breast cancer diagnosis—lived until she was 92. She passed away May 26, 2022, with 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and an eponymous cancer research foundation to her name.
“My mother taught me about second acts. And third ones, too," Alec wrote in tribute when she died. "She spent the last 25 years of her life as a fighter and a champion for the cause to which she devoted so much energy."

Daughter Jameson was born Feb. 27, 2000, her brother Vance followed in 2001 and sister Brooke rounded out the fam in 2004.
Billy revealed on Oct. 3, 2019, that Vance had been diagnosed with cancer exactly one year beforehand and had since undergone 28 rounds of chemo.
The teen "stayed VERY positive, focused and kept his life as normal as possible... every single day," his dad wrote. "Kid’s a tough son of a bitch. Sharp as a tack. Funny as hell. Tough as nails. Heart of gold."

Also on the anniversary of his diagnosis, Vance posted to his own account, per USA Today, that he had "been clear" for months.

On Aug. 23, 2024, Justin revealed that son Jack Blues Bieber had arrived.
"WELCOME HOME," the singer captioned a photo of the newborn's squee-inducing tiny foot juxtaposed against one of his mom's immaculately manicured fingers.
Justin's mom, Pattie Mallette, wrote on X, "CONGRATULATIONS @justinbieber & Hailey. I LOVE YOU FOREVER BABY JACK."
