Recent revelations have uncovered the truth behind one of the most notorious and viral stage rants in music history, highlighting how appearances can often be deceiving. This intriguing development was disclosed in an engaging episode of the Beardo and Weirdo podcast, featuring the talents of comedian Craig Gass and Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael.
In a previous discussion, the hosts shared hearty laughs over Casey Shaw‘s legendary banter. Shaw, the frontman, recounted a bizarre job he held at the tender age of 15, where he manually extracted semen from horses, which was then packaged and sold at a staggering price. This wild tale served to illustrate the three types of individuals in the world, ultimately shedding light on the disparity between those at the top accumulating wealth and the efforts of others that contribute to their prosperity.
…However, that is merely the sanitized version of the story.
Shaw’s original account was far more graphic and left little to the imagination. Yet, lingering questions remained, prompting Gass and Kael to take on the role of investigative heroes that the heavy music community has been yearning for since this infamous rant went viral years ago.
Indeed, they managed to secure an exclusive interview with Shaw!
During this candid conversation, the vocalist disclosed that the rant was meticulously rehearsed and had become a staple of his band’s performances. However, he admitted that the story itself is largely fabricated, albeit with some “nuggets” of truth woven into the narrative.

“I deceived Wolfie [Bob Wolf] when I spoke to him for Howard Stern. I continued the charade with him, but since I like you guys — I’ll be honest. I was actually employed at FedEx, not on a farm or anything remotely related. There are indeed elements of truth. We transported these enormous, mushroom-shaped containers — they resembled giant penises. Each container had a shipping label affixed, along with an invoice, some of which contained vials of horse semen being shipped in these large containers. They had to declare the value, and some could be worth as much as $100,000.”
“I was earning almost nothing while moving these tiny vials of semen around.”
It doesn’t take long for Gass to slip into his Gene Simmons impersonation, humorously suggesting that there is at least one commercial product the band has yet to brand successfully.
Further insights emerge about how Shaw’s bandmates reacted to the speech, revealing that he takes more pride in that rant than in any of the songs produced by the band. “Don’t listen to that band. That band was bad!”
