In the time between when Grand Theft Auto 6 was leaked and came out, a lot has happened. It’s been roughly four years since then, and the game still hasn’t been released. As we wait for an eventual November holiday drop for GTA 6, fans are contemplating.
Over on X, fans are debating a significant GTA leak, and there’s a lot of confusion surrounding it. That leak was from an old build, and GTA 6 is going to look completely different by the time it reaches version 1.0. In fact, we can expect GTA 6 to see further improvements on PC, as well as the inevitable PS6 and Next-Xbox (Project Helix) versions.
This GTA 6 Gameplay Leak Isn’t New
There Have Been Many Improvements
On X, fans are discussing leaked footage of GTA 6 showing Lucia (one of the new protagonists, along with Jason) fighting off cops in the back of a truck. It’s an action-packed mission that looks reminiscent of classic GTA gameplay, but there are many misconceptions surrounding said footage.
Some fans are saying it looks off, which makes sense because it’s years-old leaked footage of a build that wasn’t meant to be public. The game has already been significantly improved in official trailers and will likely look even better by the time November rolls around. The confusion has begun, even if this is an older leak: “People are actually excited for this garbage? It’s just GTA5 again…”
As one fan put it: “This is an old leak. Had a video over an hour long with stuff like this but really it was just boring development footage of a highly unfinished state. Most if not all assets from GTA V at the time.”
Another X user brings up a good point: “Didn’t we see a glimpse of this mission in the trailer 2 video? It’s only missing the SWAT car in the middle which permitting when Rockstar last touched it I wouldn’t be surprised if it is the same mission.” It’ll be interesting to see if this mission ends up in the final build in some form.
GTA 6 Looks Amazing Now
The Official Trailers Look Impressive
Based on the official trailers shown so far for GTA 6, the game has received a considerable glow-up. This old build was clearly running off of pre-existing assets from older games (including GTA 5), and Rockstar has been gradually improving things since then.
By the time we get the third trailer for GTA 6, things will probably seem even further along. Collectively, fans are waiting with bated breath for the PC edition to supercharge just about every aspect of the visuals.
