GTA Game Demo Coming This March, Moving Past GTA 6

The wait from now until November 2026 feels excruciating as the gaming world holds its breath and waits for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise. But what if I told you that you didn’t have to wait so long to play a new Grand Theft Auto game? Thanks to one very talented modder, we may soon be playing a demo of Grand Theft Auto Carcer City.

Revealing a map showcase video on YouTube, modder DeadpoolMKD showed off the sprawling area of Clarksland from his fully modded version of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Building on the original source code, DeadpoolMKD has created a brand-new map and something for modders and hardcore Grand Theft Auto fans to get excited for before the release of GTA 6.

The video not only showcased a new area of the map, but a sticky comment from the creator revealed that a playable demo is expected to launch this coming March. This could be the perfect stop gap to satiate your Grand Theft Auto cravings between now and November. With little more than GTA 6 gameplay leaks to obsess over, Grand Theft Auto Carcer City might be the perfect tonic to whittle away a few hours.

Modders have long been adding longevity to games we all love and breathing new life into Grand Theft Auto San Andreas is always welcome. But a Grand Theft Auto ban might be on the cards if this free mod attracts too much attention. Rockstar typically don’t drop the hammer unless mods affect GTA Online (which this won’t), so hopefully, we’ll get our hands on this demo unscathed in March.

Who Needs GTA 6?

We’ve Got GTA at Home

Look, comparing GTA 6 to a modded Grand Theft Auto San Andreas game is like when you try to make a Big Mac at home. It just doesn’t hit the same! But, any GTA goodness is more than welcome while we wait for Rockstar to give us even a morsel of information on GTA 6. And yes, you could content yourself with new massive events on GTA Online, but there’s something glorious about getting something that feels fresh and new.

Playing as a former police officer and driving around the gritty streets of Grand Theft Auto Carcer City sounds like time well spent. Clarksland itself looks run-down and economically poor, so I suspect criminal activity is at an all-time high in Carcer City. It’s shaping up to be a fun playground to cause some havoc. Here’s hoping Rockstar and Take-two turn a blind eye this coming March. Can’t wait to play it!
