We genuinely don’t know where you’ve been if you weren’t already aware that Demna was now installed as Gucci creative director, having replaced Sabato De Sarno (who only lasted two years in the role). Demna’s highly anticipated debut collection as the creative force behind the renowned Italian fashion house is here. Ahead of the official start of Milan Fashion Week, Gucci releases its Spring 2026 collection designed by the Georgian designer in the form of “La Famiglia”, a 37-portrait lookbook that explores what he describes as “the Gucciness of Gucci”. On September 23, the brand is set to release a video to accompany the collection (directed by Spike Jonze and Halina Reijn and starring Demi Moore).

“Basically very much his Balenciaga wrapped up in a Gucci belt!! Nothing to see here!” [mteb123]
“This is Demna x Gucci by Alessandro Michele! One word: flop!” [TurkicMongal]
“This is already a disaster. Gucci desperately needed either a giant turnaround or an injection of life-saving energy, and this haphazardly slapped-together collection is neither of those things.” [TheExecutioner]
“This is exactly as dumb as we expected it to look like. Not gonna waste more words on this nonsense.” [tricotineacetat]
“That white floral gown is literally his typical Balenciaga, and that is when I stopped because it’s just gonna be same old stuff different logos. And frankly what’s the point anyway. Good luck turning things around with whatever this is.” [THD96]
“It’s referential to the point of being derivative, sampling iconic moments without adding meaningful commentary or innovation. He has used the house codes, but drowned them in gimmicks and oversize styling.” [QuantumCouture]
