In the wake of the conclusion of the second season of Hazbin Hotel, series creator Vivienne Medrano has teased what fans can expect from the forthcoming Season 3. In a recent interview, the veteran YouTuber opened up about the themes that the next installment of her adult animated series will explore, while also naming the characters that will be at the center of the upcoming season.
Vivienne Medrano says Hazbin Hotel Season 3 will be ‘the most romantic season’
While speaking to Polygon, Medrano noted that the third season of Hazbin Hotel will heavily feature romantic aspects.
“I am excited for people to see a season that is really emotional,” she said. “It’s the most romantic season, which I love as a romance writer. I just love the dramatic, the angst, the twists and turns of Season 3.”
The 33-year-old artist then teased the emergence of a villain in Hazbin Hotel Season 3, stating, “I’m also excited for people to see a character we’ve built up — I won’t say who, just to be extra-safe. A character who’s been built up as sort of a friendly face, or an anti-hero, a character who is on the right side for the first two seasons, getting to step into a villain role, and getting to see the nuance and the real motivation behind a very trickstery, devious character who has his own agenda that’s much more sinister in Season 3.”
Medrano further divulged that Hazbin Hotel Season 3 will “put more focus on the Morningstar family.” Additionally, it will explore how Lute evolves following Adam’s death, as she has been “the character with the most pent-up, the most built-up emotions, in terms of how she’s treated, and her just witnessing all the other narratives between Heaven and Hell.” Additionally, the upcoming season will also dive into the backstories of Sir Pentious, Alastor, and other such characters.
While the creators of the celebrated animated series have yet to confirm the exact release date of the next season of Hazbin Hotel, fans can expect Season 3 to come out sometime in 2027.
