In a recent appearance on the ‘Humble Brag’ podcast, reported by US Magazine, NeNe Leakes shared the difficult circumstances preventing her from participating in the reality show ‘Traitors.’ Her son, Brentt, has been hospitalized since May, a situation that understandably takes precedence in her life. NeNe expressed her relief at not committing to the show, fearing she might have to withdraw at a critical time for Brentt.
“I’m so glad I said no. I kept thinking maybe Brentt would be much better [by June]. My fear was committing and then having to go back to them and say, ‘I can’t do it,’” she explained. “So that was never going to work. Brentt was very sick. It was no way I could have committed to it. And I believe you have to go out of the country [to film the series].”
Despite the ongoing challenges, NeNe highlighted that Brentt is making notable strides in his recovery while still hospitalized. She indicated that had his condition improved to its current state earlier, she would have felt comfortable traveling to Scotland.
“We can FaceTime. He’s talking. He wasn’t walking at the time. Now he’s walking, he’s talking,” she added, expressing her gratitude for his progress.

In January 2023, Brentt made a brief return to social media, showcasing now-deleted photos that highlighted an impressive 100-pound weight loss, according to The Shade Room.
