Welcome To Plathville’s villainous roles have been shifting over the last season, and while it felt like one of the Plaths was changing all season long, they were simply hiding their dark intentions until the right moment. Throughout Welcome To Plathville season 7, viewers have watched as the Plath family prepared to expand. Lydia Plath, one of the middle daughters, married Zac Wyse, bringing an outsider into the family.
The Plaths have never taken to outsiders well. While their eldest daughter, Hosanna Plath, isn’t part of the series and has a private life with her husband and children off-screen, the rest of the Plath children’s experiences with romantic partners coming into the family has been less-than-favorable. Ethan Plath, in particular, struggled with his family accepting his then-wife Olivia Plath until their split.
While Micah Plath, who introduced his girlfriend Veronica Peters to the family during Welcome To Plathville season 6, thought he’d found some common ground with his family and his partner, things changed quickly. Unfortunately for the Plath kids, Kim Plath and her estranged husband Barry Plath ensure their family isn’t welcoming. One of the Plath parents has been hiding their intentions all season.

She’s Been Against Veronica Peters & Lydia’s Quick Wedding
Although Kim has long struggled in accepting the partners of her children, it felt like Welcome To Plathville season 7 was seeing her turn over a new leaf. Throughout the season, Kim has made it clear that she wasn’t thrilled about the idea of Lydia getting married so quickly, but has seemed to be keeping her mouth shut about her opinion.
While Kim’s been keeping tight-lipped about expressing her feelings on Lydia’s wedding, she’s been upfront about the fact that Micah’s girlfriend Veronica has been a problem for her. In the most recent episode of Welcome To Plathville, things came to a head when Veronica, Kim, and the majority of the Plath family sat down for a difficult, uncomfortable conversation post-wedding.
Though it seemed that Kim was going to be upfront about how she felt about Veronica, it became clear that she’d been dealing with pent up emotions about things that stemmed back well over a year and wasn’t just upset about the drama Veronica brought to Lydia’s wedding. Rather than the somewhat calmer Kim viewers had been seeing, she was quick to place blame on Micah’s girlfriend.

Although it’s appeared that Kim was changing with time and experience, her intentions were far darker when it came to confronting Veronica than expected. While it was clear that the Plaths were clashing with Veronica throughout the wedding, Kim’s decision to bring the hammer down on Micah’s partner for things that weren’t even close to her fault was deeply confusing.
Throughout Welcome To Plathville’s run, it’s been clear that Kim’s had a hard time accepting her children’s partners, but seeing her spin family’s problems on the one outsider in the family is still disturbing. Kim seemed to be changing this season, but it appears that she was always up to her old tricks, just keeping them a secret on Welcome To Plathville.
