The Boys‘ showrunner, Eric Kripke, recently discussed whether Marie Moreau from Gen V might actually be the most powerful hero and if she could defeat Antony Starr’s Homelander. Jaz Sinclair portrays the protagonist Marie Moreau in Gen V, which is a spin-off of The Boys. Season 2 of this popular show is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 17, 2025.
How could Gen V’s Marie Moreau defeat Homelander?
The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke recently suggested that Jaz Sinclair’s Marie Moreau might be the most powerful hero in The Boys’ universe and could potentially take down Homelander.
In Season 1 of Gen V, Moreau survived a full optic blast from Homelander with ease. However, Kripke’s comments indicate that the two may confront each other again in The Boys Season 5. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kripke stated, “If she can control everybody’s blood, then what can’t she do? How is she not the most powerful superhero on the planet? Just because she has the potential to be, doesn’t mean that she is.” He added, “It felt like a very organic adolescent problem, which is these expectations are placed on you to be this truly great thing, but you’re not quite ready to step up to be truly great.”
Kripke also mentioned that “There’s a lot in Gen V that really helps set up the climax of this final confrontation in The Boys.”
Regarding a potential showdown between Moreau and Homelander, Sinclair expressed her enthusiasm for that possibility. She said, “I just like that she’s an underdog, and I like that she’s a Black woman, too. This super sexist, patriarchal bad guy. I would love to see him get his ass handed to him by a Black woman.”
The Boys Season 5 has completed production and is expected to release in 2026.
