Currently, the former Murder Inc. artist is candidly discussing the circumstances surrounding Gotti’s death, expressing his profound disappointment at the notion that it might have been preventable.

Ja Rule Opens Up About Coping with Irv Gotti’s Untimely Passing

On April 10, an enlightening interview featuring Ja Rule was aired on The Breakfast Club, where he delved into various topics such as fatherhood, his ongoing business ventures, and the enduring legacy of Murder Inc., along with his deep bond with Irv Gotti. The host, Charlamagne Tha God, initiated a sensitive conversation regarding death, expressing concern about whether it was appropriate to address such a heavy topic. However, Ja Rule quickly reassured him, stating he is quite knowledgeable about the complexities of life and death. He admitted that he experiences moments of fluctuating emotions when dealing with the loss of someone he regarded as a brother.

“I know that my brother lived to die; he lived his life fully. So I can find solace in that reality, but I still feel pain over how everything transpired so quickly,” Ja Rule reflected thoughtfully.

In a follow-up question, DJ Envy asked Ja Rule if he had any regrets about not urging Irv to pay more attention to his health concerns. Ja Rule conveyed that convincing Gotti to change his habits was not feasible.

“He was steadfast in how he chose to live his life. My last message to him was: ‘Yo, how are you doing? Are you taking care of yourself? How’s your health? How are you feeling?’” Ja Rule recounted.

He went on to explain that Irv had responded affirmatively, but he emphasized that Gotti always chose to live life on his own terms. “That was Irv’s essence. I find comfort in knowing he lived life to the fullest, but I can’t help but feel a sense of disappointment because I believe he could still be with us today,” Ja Rule expressed.

Despite his feelings of disappointment, Ja Rule acknowledged that Irv Gotti’s passing has profoundly shifted his perspectives on various aspects of life. “This experience has provided clarity; it has reshaped how I view life, health, and even wealth,” he shared. “Money means nothing if your health is compromised. Without good health, enjoyment becomes impossible.”
