A new trailer for IT: Welcome to Derry series has been released.
Warner Bros. Television’s IT: Welcome to Derry will debut on HBO next month. Based on Stephen King’s 1986 novel, the show serves as a prequel to 2017’s It and 2019’s It Chapter Two, both of which were directed by Andy Muschietti.

What happens in the IT: Welcome to Derry trailer?
Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise the Clown officially returns in the IT: Welcome to Derry trailer, while there are also a number of other references to the previous two movies scattered in there, including a glimpse of the site where the Paul Bunyan statue will be built. The story is set in 1962 and is based on the interludes featured in King’s book.
“Set in the world of Stephen King’s IT universe, IT: Welcome to Derry is based on King’s IT novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films IT and IT Chapter Two,” the official logline reads.
In addition to Skarsgård, the cast of the show includes Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso.
Produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television, IT: Welcome to Derry is developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs. Fuchs, who wrote the teleplay for the first episode, serves as co-showrunner alongside Caleb Kane, while Andy Muschietti is directing multiple episodes. Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, Fuchs, and Kane also all serve as executive producers alongside David Coatsworth, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin.
IT: Welcome to Derry will premiere on HBO Max on Sunday, October 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. There will be eight episodes in total with the finale airing on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
