Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise the Clown officially returns in the IT: Welcome to Derry trailer, while there are also a number of other references to the previous two movies scattered in there, including a glimpse of the site where the Paul Bunyan statue will be built. The story is set in 1962 and is based on the interludes featured in King’s book.

“Set in the world of Stephen King’s IT universe, IT: Welcome to Derry is based on King’s IT novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films IT and IT Chapter Two,” the official logline reads.

In addition to Skarsgård, the cast of the show includes Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso.

Produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television, IT: Welcome to Derry is developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs.
