“I’m still processing it all,” Lee expressed on Facebook, reflecting on the gravity of Osbourne’s recent passing at the age of 76. “The reality of it washes over me in waves. Just a couple of weeks ago, while waiting at the airport to return home, I received a text from him that struck a chord with me:

“Hi Jake, I’m so sorry I couldn’t spend more time with you over the weekend; it was quite chaotic. I’d really love to see you when I eventually get back to Los Angeles, just to catch up. It’s been far too long since our last meeting. Where are you living these days? The last I heard was that you were in Las Vegas.

“How did your gig go on Saturday? I really hope you had a great time. I’ll message you when I’m back in LA, and we must catch up—much love and respect, OZZY.”

Jake E. Lee joined Osbourne’s band in 1982 and remained until 1987. During his time with Osbourne, he contributed to significant albums, including the iconic 1983 release Bark at the Moon and the 1986 follow-up The Ultimate Sin. Lee played a crucial role in co-writing much of the material featured on these landmark albums, solidifying his place in rock history.
