In a riveting clip, James expressed his excitement, stating, “It was incredible to meet a band that has been profoundly inspirational to me throughout my adolescent years.” He captured this thrilling moment during a VIP meet and greet with the band on March 14 in Boston, Massachusetts.
James, who enthusiastically brought Shelley along for the concert experience, shared that he has had the pleasure of seeing Disturbed perform live on four separate occasions. He excitedly reminisced with the band about how he was merely 13 years old when they released their groundbreaking debut album, The Sickness, back in 2000.
“It was a delight to meet you, James! Thanks for being a dedicated fan of Disturbed since the beginning,” the band graciously commented on James’s social media post.

According to his previous posts on Instagram, James is also a devoted fan of other influential bands like Pantera, Amon Amarth, Linkin Park, and Judas Priest.
However, James isn’t just a fan of metal music; he is also making strides as a budding metal artist himself. Late last year, he released an original song titled “Heavy Metal Queen” in collaboration with the talented Massachusetts-based group, the Clemenzi Crusaders. This track embraces the energetic essence of the genre.
In the song, he passionately sings, “Raven hair and ivory skin / Eyes that shine from a light within / Silver eyes that gleam at night / Gazing with the gift of second sight / She is the most magic woman whom I ever have seen / She’ll forever be my heavy metal queen.” This captivating mystical anthem showcases his artistic flair.
While the song isn’t specifically composed about Shelley, she makes a charming appearance in the LARP-themed, black-and-white music video, portraying the enchanting Heavy Metal Queen. Watch the creative visuals below:
It remains to be seen whether James will release additional music in the near future, but based on his interests, he certainly seems to appreciate rock music as a broader genre.
For instance, he showcased his rock enthusiasm with an energetic karaoke rendition of Aerosmith‘s 1975 classic “Walk This Way,” performed during his first date with Shelley last year. Keep rocking, James!
