Celebrities are mourning the late Jane Goodall.
The trailblazing primatologist and conservationist, who was known as the foremost expert on chimpanzees, passed away at the age of 91, it was confirmed on Wednesday (October 1).
Already, there’s been an outpouring of love and condolences on social media, as many celebrities share their thoughts on the life and legacy of the iconic Jane Goodall.

“Heartbroken to hear of Dr. Jane Goodall’s passing. She was a pioneer whose research and advocacy reshaped our understanding of the natural world. Her wisdom and compassion will live on in every act of conservation. All of us who were so greatly inspired by her will miss her deeply,” said Justin Trudeau in a statement.
“Jane Goodall was a legendary figure and a friend. I admired her, learned from her, and was so honored to get to spend time with her over the years. She stayed at her mission and on her mission. She changed the world and the lives of everyone she impacted. The world lost one of its best today, and I lost someone I adored,” Maria Shriver said in a statement.

The Encyclopedia Britannica even issued a statement, saying: “Jane Goodall was one of a few people to earn a PhD without an undergraduate degree. It was thought that her lack of formal academic training would allow her to remain unbiased by traditional thought and study the chimps with an open mind. It worked.”
