In a captivating episode of the New Heights podcast aired in September 2023, the couple opened up about their unique engagement story. Jason humorously confessed that he doesn’t consider himself a particularly “romantic” individual, which set the tone for their charming tale.
The NFL star chose an unconventional setting to propose to Kylie, doing so in his car right after they left her parents’ home. This setting added an element of spontaneity to the moment.
“I couldn’t figure out how to inconspicuously go back into the house,” he recounted, “because if I was like, ‘Hey I gotta go talk to your dad for a second,’ it would have seemed quite strange.” This candid admission highlighted his struggle to navigate the moment.
Instead, Jason opted for a rather humorous excuse: “When we got in the car, I said, ‘Ky, I’m sorry but I gotta take a s–t.'” His choice of words certainly added a dose of comedy to the situation.
Kylie, however, was not easily fooled and immediately sensed that Jason was planning something special. “He came back out, and I said, ‘Jason, I know you didn’t just go in there and take a s–t; it usually takes you 20 minutes!'” Her playful observation showcased their strong connection and understanding of each other.
