The rights holders of the Friday the 13th franchise at Horror Inc. have officially announced the launch of the Jason Universe. This exciting initiative promises a wealth of new Friday the 13th experiences that will span a diverse array of platforms, including entertainment, video games, immersive experiences, and merchandise. Fans can stay updated on these developments by following @JasonUniverse13 on social media or by visiting the official Jason Universe website. In a fitting tribute to the 45th anniversary of the original film, the Jason Universe recently revealed a striking new logo that pays homage to the franchise’s legacy.
The newly unveiled logo prominently features the iconic hockey mask associated with Jason Voorhees, but with subtle modifications that provide a contemporary twist. Recently, AdWeek provided an exclusive first look at the complete redesign of Jason, showcasing this refreshed mask. Horror Inc. President Rob Barsamian commented on this revitalized look, stating, “We aim to preserve Jason’s original essence while moving confidently into the future with a distinct look and feel that leads Jason into his next chapter. We are collaborating with both familiar and innovative voices from the franchise to achieve this balance.” After experimenting with various styles, including a burlap sack and futuristic attire, it appears that a return to basics is the guiding principle for this redesign. Check out the new look below.

Renowned special effects expert Greg Nicotero has reportedly been consulted during this redesign phase. Barsamian elaborated, “We collaborated with Greg on the new 13-hole mask and together created a full-body look that truly embodies classic Jason. He is portrayed as a strong, towering, and terrifying slasher wielding his infamous machete, which remains his weapon of choice.” With an anticipated A24 and Peacock series titled Crystal Lake in development, Horror Inc.’s Chief Marketing Officer Sheri Conn reassures fans that Voorhees will soon be back to his slashing ways in theaters. Conn stated, “We are actively listening to our fans and developing an extensive lineup under the Jason Universe brand that includes new films, gaming experiences, merchandise, and more. Our film franchise is among the most enduring horror properties in cinematic history, and we are excited to reimagine what the next chapter—and the slasher genre overall—can evolve into.”
Currently, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, and Robert P. Barsamian are collaborating with Stuart Manashil, A24, and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane to executive produce the upcoming Friday the 13th series Crystal Lake for the Peacock streaming platform. This highly anticipated show has recently secured Linda Cardellini to portray Jason’s vengeful mother, Pamela Voorhees, and is gearing up to commence production soon.
