Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy are waltzing through life.
The couple, who both work as ballroom dance professionals on Dancing With the Stars, shared that their 10-year relationship has remained strong due to a few special qualities they share.
“We work in a crazy industry, so I think being there for one another and being each other’s hype crew, each other’s shoulder to cry on, safe place,” Jenna told Meet Cutes NYC in a man-on-the-street style interview alongside Val, continuing, “[Be] open to the raw and terrible parts of life that you’re going to experience together as a couple.”
Jenna, 31, added, “Those are all things that he is for me.”
Val, 39, commented on her lengthy list, quipping, “That’s a lot of secrets.”
It all started for the couple in 2014 when Jenna first joined the cast. As they tell it, it was an instant connection on set.
“I was obviously very attracted to him and he smelled very good,” Jenna said of her first impression of Val, “and that smell will last with me forever.”
