Jennifer Hudson to Headline Annual Whitney Houston Gala

Experience a mesmerizing performance by the award-winning singer, actress, and talk show host Jennifer Hudson at the highly anticipated fourth annual Whitney E. Houston Legacy of Love Gala. This remarkable event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music and legacy, honoring the late icon’s profound impact on the industry.

This year’s gala marks a significant milestone, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Whitney Houston’s trailblazing career. Set to take place on August 9, coinciding with what would have been Whitney Houston’s 62nd birthday, the event will unfold at the luxurious St. Regis Hotel in Atlanta. It is proudly presented by The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation in collaboration with Primary Wave Music. The legendary Clive Davis, chief creative officer of Sony Music Entertainment, will serve as the honorary chair for this prestigious gathering.

Alongside the headline performance by Hudson, the musical lineup will feature renowned R&B singer/songwriter Meli’sa Morgan, who lent her voice to Houston’s iconic self-titled debut album. The gala will also showcase Jimmy Vance, the talented winner of The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation’s second annual Cover Song Competition, along with a unique performance by a symphony orchestra. This symphonic preview is part of the upcoming North America fall tour, The Voice of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration, conducted by William R. Langley.

The gala will be co-hosted by Pat Houston, president of The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation and executor of Whitney’s estate, along with Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight. “We are excited to have Jennifer Hudson as our headlining performer and special guest,” said Pat Houston in the press announcement. “It is truly a privilege for us to celebrate Whitney’s 40th anniversary with her, and we are grateful for her continued support of Whitney’s enduring legacy.”

One of the highlights of the evening will include the announcement of the foundation’s 2025 grant award recipient, Kids in the Spotlight, an organization committed to empowering foster youth. Additionally, attendees can look forward to exclusive Houston artifacts and curated items, along with experience packages made possible through partnerships with Julien’s Auctions and Charity Buzz. The gala will once again extend its commitment to the arts by awarding annual scholarships to talented students from HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), fostering the next generation of artists.

“We are thrilled with the growth and impact of the foundation over the past four years,” Pat Houston remarked. “Though Whitney Houston is celebrated globally for her extraordinary talent in music and entertainment, her true passion was supporting children and youth. She consistently reached out to various communities around the world, embodying the spirit of a global servant. Whitney lived by the powerful words from her international anthem, ‘Greatest Love of All’: ‘I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way; show them all the beauty they possess inside
