Previously, Dupri raised concerns about the financial stability of the En Vogue singer after she disclosed her current circumstances while also mentioning that she employs an assistant. Almost two weeks following Dupri’s initial comments, Robinson publicly called him out. In an exclusive interview with The Shade Room’s Jade Ashley, Jermaine clarified his intentions behind his statements and seemed to extend an apology for any misunderstanding.

Jermaine Dupri Clarifies His Comments on Dawn Robinson’s Car Living Situation

On Friday, March 28, Dupri revisited the discussion surrounding Dawn’s feelings about his comments regarding her living situation in a vehicle. Earlier, the producer had heavily criticized Robinson for having an assistant while lacking a stable place to live, which he found perplexing.

“Ain’t no way she got an assistant and she ain’t got no money. When you ain’t got no money and you out here doing what you gotta do, you out here doing s**t by yourself,” Jermaine had stated during an on-camera interview. “You moving around by yourself. Ain’t nobody getting ready to sit up under you and just kick it for nothing.”

In his conversation with Jade Ashley, Jermaine clarified that Dawn may have misunderstood his comments. He asserted that his intention was to support her rather than criticize her choice of living in a car, emphasizing that he believed he was advocating for her during the discussion.

“I’m sorry she viewed what I was saying as an attack; it feels like she didn’t watch my video. She heard what someone said because if you watch my video, I was trying to defend her because I watched her video very thoroughly and realized that she was saying this was her choice,” Dupri elaborated, aiming to clear up any miscommunication.

Dawn Robinson Expresses Her Confusion Regarding Jermaine Dupri’s Remarks

As previously noted, Robinson conveyed her bewilderment at Jermaine’s comments. Dawn stated, “I was shocked. Artist to artist…we don’t attack each other like that. You would swear that he knows me directly and he knows my story. It’s like, where are you coming from.” She suggested that Dupri could have reached out to her directly instead of making assumptions about her life circumstances.

“…some people just have to be negative, and he doesn’t know my story, so he’s assuming. Instead of reaching out to me directly…,” Dawn commented regarding Jermaine’s approach.

As of now, Dawn Robinson has not publicly responded to Jermaine’s attempted apology and his clarifications regarding his earlier comments.
