Joe Manganiello is eager to take on a role in the highly anticipated live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film!
The co-creator of the beloved comic series recently revealed that the 48-year-old actor has shown enthusiasm for portraying a specific character in the much-discussed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin, which is expected to deliver a darker, R-rated cinematic experience. “I first met him [when] when he reached out to me online as a passionate Turtle enthusiast and a long-time fan of the Turtles role-playing games,” co-creator Kevin Eastman shared in an interview with People.
“We’ve had several meetings and have stayed in touch. He often sends me interesting pictures related to his work and various fun things,” Eastman elaborated. “When the idea of creating a new live-action Turtles movie came up, he expressed, ‘I want to be Casey Jones in this reimagining.’ He even shared a couple of images with me. Given his age and background, he’s absolutely the right fit for the role. He would be phenomenal.”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first made their cinematic debut in the 1990 film, followed by the 2016 release of the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which brought the characters back to life in a modern setting.
In 2023, the Turtles returned to theaters with the animated feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, co-written and featuring Seth Rogen as the voice of Bebop. A sequel is currently in development, with an expected release date set for 2027, promising even more adventures for fans of the franchise.
