The post highlighted that Brenkus, co-founder of BASE Productions, founder of Brinx.TV, and co-creator and host of the six-time Emmy Award-winning show Sports Science, had been struggling with mental health issues. “On May 31st, 2025, John lost his fight against this debilitating illness. His grieving family and friends urge everyone to respect their privacy during this difficult time and encourage anyone suffering from depression to seek help,” the statement concluded.
Brenkus had openly discussed his ongoing struggles with depression and even a previous suicide attempt.
