Angelina Jolie just caught a performance of one of Broadway‘s hottest shows of the year!
The Oscar-winning actress attended a performance of John Proctor Is The Villain this past weekend during the show’s final weeks on Broadway.
The play follows a “group of high school girls in rural Georgia who are studying Arthur Miller’s The Crucible and create a feminism club as they try to make sense of the greater #MeToo movement and their own relationships with the men — classmates, teachers and fathers — in their small community.”
John Proctor Is The Villain is directed by Danya Taymor, who directed the musical The Outsiders. Angelina was a producer on that show.
After the performance, Angelina went backstage to meet with the cast.
“Angelina was super complimentary of the play and bonded with the cast over their shared love for director Danya Taymor,” a source close to the production told People.
John Proctor Is The Villain, which is currently being made into a movie, will close on Broadway on September 7. Get tickets now!
