A groundbreaking documentary titled The Ballad of Judas Priest is currently in the works at Sony Music Vision, dedicated to honoring the incredible legacy of the English Heavy Metal legends. This film will take viewers on an exhilarating journey through the band’s remarkable 50-plus-year history, showcasing their rise to the pinnacle of the hard rock genre.

Renowned documentary filmmaker Sam Dunn, alongside Tom Morello, the iconic guitarist from Rage Against the Machine, will co-direct this cinematic tribute, marking a significant milestone as Morello steps into the role of director for the first time. The Ballad of Judas Priest promises to feature classic metal anthems like “Breaking the Law” and “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’,” while also chronicling the band’s humble beginnings in working-class Birmingham, U.K., and their evolution into Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

“We have lived and breathed metal for over five decades, and finally in this documentary, we are summoning our congregation to officially witness our lives uncensored, in a never-before-seen way,” the members of Judas Priest remarked in an official statement. “The cassock comes off, revealing Priest in all its metal glory!”

As they enter their sixth decade in the music industry, Judas Priest continues to demonstrate their unwavering passion and energy. They are set to release their 19th studio album, Invincible Shield, in March 2024. Additionally, the band is gearing up for a co-headlining tour across North America with Alice Cooper this fall, with Corrosion of Conformity providing support for most tour dates.
