Catherine Paiz Opens Up About Emotional Struggles and Infidelity Allegations on the Call Her Daddy Podcast
Catherine Paiz is bravely sharing her personal perspective on a tumultuous chapter of her life.
The 34-year-old social media influencer, widely recognized for her engaging family-oriented content on their immensely popular YouTube channel, The ACE Family, discussed the painful allegations of infidelity that contributed to the breakdown of her marriage during a revealing appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
During the episode that premiered on Wednesday, Paiz sat down with host Alex Cooper to openly express the emotional toll that the accusations surrounding McBroom’s alleged cheating took on her throughout their relationship.
“When the rumors first emerged, my heart sank. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’” Paiz reflected, recalling her reaction to the initial whispers of infidelity that arose while the couple was still together, actively sharing their lives with their over 18 million followers on social media.
The couple had a private wedding in 2017 and later revealed their union in January 2020 while expecting their third child. They are parents to three children: Elle, aged 8, Alaïa, aged 6, and Steel, aged 4.
Despite being “married, co-parenting, and business partners,” Paiz expressed her struggles in discerning the truth amidst the swirling allegations as more rumors continued to surface.
“There were moments when I didn’t know what to believe. Some things were true, some things were distorted, and some things weren’t true at all — it was really hard to tell,” she admitted, highlighting the emotional confusion she faced during this challenging time.
When the rumors began to circulate, she confronted McBroom, who downplayed the allegations, attempting to reassure her amidst the chaos.
“‘Oh, that comes with the territory, and let’s not respond because we’re just going to add fuel to the fire and it’s not true,’” Paiz recalled him saying, attempting to dismiss the growing speculation.
While she initially “really trusted him” and didn’t believe he was unfaithful, over time, numerous incidents began to accumulate, making it increasingly difficult for her to ignore the signs.

When Cooper asked Paiz when she first realized something was wrong, she replied, “There were quite a few moments,” but confirmed, “I knew for sure three” women were involved. She added that she had seen headlines claiming McBroom confessed to “20 women,” although she said, “I don’t know if that’s true.”
One particularly painful memory surfaced after she gave birth to their second daughter, Alaïa. Paiz recounted that McBroom expressed a desire to travel to Miami for a business trip, which raised her suspicions.
“I’m the type of partner who likes my partner to be happy, like ‘I trust you, go. If you want to go on a trip, you want to go on a boys’ trip, whatever you want to do, go.’ That’s just my personality,” she explained, providing insight into her trusting nature.
“Now I look back and think I should have changed some things up a little bit,” she added. “I was exhausted. I was filming every single day. I had another child [to take care of], changing diapers and breastfeeding… super exhausted, super drained, you know?”

She mentioned she allowed him to go because he edited all their family vlogs and “deserved” the break. However, during the trip, she noticed several red flags that raised her concerns.
“I remember that business trip like it was yesterday,” Paiz said, recalling phone calls where she heard “women in the background,” which was alarming to her.
She initially brushed it off until a fellow YouTuber — “this blonde male makeup artist” uploaded a video detailing McBroom’s alleged wild Miami trip. Although Paiz mentioned she still hasn’t watched it, her friends did and broke it down for her.
“I was bawling,” she expressed. “I didn’t want to believe the horrors. But it was like, ‘Am I just being foolish right now? Am I really not confronting this, or do I vindicate him, do I vindicate our family?’ And that’s what I did. I look back at my past self and think, ‘Poor girl.’ I wish I could hug her today.”
Later, when she was about three months pregnant with their son, Steel, Paiz recalled feeling something was amiss again. While filming their daughter’s first haircut, she noticed a text pop up on McBroom’s phone that read, “If you really love your wife, you wouldn’t be…”

She continued, “My mind scanned it, but I wasn’t able to read it fully. But in that moment, my heart dropped. I’m pregnant. There are people watching us. The camera’s on. It felt surreal.”
After attempting to get the truth from McBroom, she went on a long drive alone and ultimately decided to let it go, returning home as if nothing had happened. She didn’t speak to McBroom for a few days, the longest they had ever gone without communication since starting their relationship. When they finally did talk, she said he showed her the woman he had been messaging.
However, Paiz claimed that McBroom did not actually say the words “I cheated” until just a week before the podcast episode aired, after she shared a snippet of her upcoming memoir, Dolores — My Journey Home.
McBroom publicly addressed the podcast episode via Snapchat and his Twitch stream, stating that to end the back-and-forth with his ex-wife, the best course of action for him was “not to respond.”

He previously addressed the cheating allegations in a 31-minute video posted to his Snapchat Stories, admitting, “In terms of me stepping out of my marriage, I did. I 100% stepped out of my marriage.”
“It was completely wrong for me to do it. I take full responsibility,” he stated. “If I could go back and change it, I would, and I’m sorry for that. I truly am.”
However, he also claimed that Paiz wasn’t blindsided by his infidelities as she claimed, telling his followers: “Catherine knew what I was dealing with for a very long time.”
In the video, McBroom stated he felt “no affection” in their relationship and claimed he had brought it up multiple times with Paiz.
“Her exact words, verbatim — on my children — she said, ‘Just don’t make me look dumb. Don’t embarrass me,’” he alleged. “To me, it seems like ‘Go do whatever you need to do because I’m not able to giving you what you need.’”

Paiz emotionally denied that assertion on Name Her Daddy, telling Cooper, “One thing he said that really felt like a punch to the gut was, ‘Yes, I cheated, and she was OK with it as long as I said you don’t embarrass me.’”
“That isn’t true. I never ever said that. I could never say that,” she added with tears in her eyes, emphasizing that she does not condone cheating and never would.
While Paiz acknowledged that McBroom’s infidelity was the primary reason for the collapse of their relationship, she admitted that she struggled to address the challenges within their marriage effectively.
“I’m a big part of this problem,” Paiz said. “I take full responsibility for being in a relationship with someone and also not pursuing intimacy. Although I was disgusted and I didn’t want to be intimate, I didn’t have those serious conversations like, ‘Hey, maybe we should go see a therapist, maybe we should do couples therapy.’”

“This wasn’t normal, going another year without being physically intimate,” the influencer continued. “It’s such an important part of a marriage and a relationship.”
Elsewhere in the podcast, Paiz addressed McBroom’s comments regarding her ayahuasca practices, which she confirmed to have explored after attending a retreat in Brazil. It is there that she met her current boyfriend, Igor Ten, who she said makes her feel the “safest” she has ever felt.
The couple had been together for nearly a decade and married for seven years before announcing their divorce through separate Instagram statements in January 2024.
McBroom has also moved on with influencer, Alexa Mal, who has been featured in his social media updates.
