Savannah Guthrie Reveals Why Her Kids Still Don’t Have Phones or Social Media

Savannah Guthrie states that she and her husband Mike Feldman have not provided their children with personal cell phones yet.

The 53-year-old Today host shared with E! News that their kids—Vale, 11, and Charley, 8— are not allowed phones while attending Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala in New York City on Thursday (October 9).

While she acknowledges that her children “want all of that stuff,” Savannah hopes to “hold off as long as possible” so they can enjoy a childhood free of social media.

Currently, Vale is permitted to use her mom’s phone to call friends, but only after signing a phone “contract.”

The former attorney stresses that open communication is essential at home, telling the outlet that “all feelings are welcome, all behavior is not,” and explaining that moods, much like storms, eventually pass.

“You can always share how you’re feeling in this house. We’re not afraid of feelings,” she says.
