The beloved star of Gilmore Girls has been officially cast in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Colleen Hoover‘s bestselling 2022 novel, Reminders of Him, as confirmed by Universal Pictures in a statement to E! News on April 24.
In this new role, the Parenthood actress continues her legacy of portraying powerful and resilient matriarchs. She will embody the character of Grace Landry, who is the mother of the late Scotty, Kenna Rowan’s boyfriend, as well as the grandmother and legal guardian of Kenna and Scotty’s young child, Diem.

As for the star-studded cast of this upcoming film, which is set to debut in February 2026, Maika Monroe—who recently gained acclaim for her leading role in the horror hit Longlegs—will portray Kenna, a young mother determined to reconnect with her 4-year-old daughter after serving a five-year prison sentence resulting from a heartbreaking accident. Additionally, Tell Me Lies‘s Tyriq Withers has been cast as Ledger, Scotty’s best friend and Kenna’s eventual love interest. Furthermore, Outer Banks‘ Rudy Pankow will be taking on the role of Scotty, adding to the film’s dynamic cast.
